Chorale Appassionata

Registration #:

Appassionata was formed in 1998 by Rhona Goujon to bring together French and British people living in the Languedoc region of France in and around the village of Bassan close to Beziers in the Herault who had an interest and passion for singing together.

From those beginnings, the choir has grown into a multi-national group of some 30 plus members whose nationalities include French, British, Dutch, Swedish, American, and Canadian.

In November 2002, the choir became an official association based in Bassan with the charter of providing concerts exclusively for charity. Throughout the year these functions make a valuable contribution to the valuable work and fund raising efforts of organisations such as Cancer Support France, la Ligue Contre le Cancer, Rétina France, Téléthon and others.

Under its dedicated leaders, Anne Roberts and Rochelle van Der Veer, the choir has attained a high standard and a valued reputation for excellence.

Our repertoire is an eclectic mix that follows the mix of nationalities of the choirs members and indeed beyond – no language is a barrier to what we sing. New members are always welcome.

We do ask that you can sing, but it is not essential for you to be able to read music.

We meet every Tuesday evening between 19:30 and 22:00 in the Salle des Fêtes in Bassan. Please come along if you would like to hear us or see how you could join in by using the contact form on our website for more information.
